where are the onlines

the absolute only thing keeping me from playing this more is that i can't control it with the four arrows (it's too annoying when you die because of that)

It's a five for the experiment haha. (and also for a bit of fear that people won't understand it and will vote zero)
edit: i do say please and thank you when i use ChatGPT, just in case... haha

Little-Rena responds:

For a moment, I thought you had said out of fear of Chat-GPT, which I could totally understand. At one point, buying something from a planet would decrease the population on the planet.

AI killing humanity won't be out of malice, it'll just be a coding error.

I'm really enjoying this! Makes me wanna get all achievements and get higher scores. The 1bit graphics get tedious quickly, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, i recognize the graphics are good. It's more about the choice of making them 1bit. I feel like if it had colors i would want to play it more. Also it makes it harder to distinguish the good things from the bad, or even the character. For example sometimes i mistake my helper monster with an actual monster, stuff like that.

FodderLabs responds:

Thanks for playing the game!

The 1 bit graphics were because this was originally a game jam game I made for the "1 Bit Game Jam" (Theme: Light and Darkness). I kept the black and white aesthetic, just to keep in the spirit of the original game. (No pun intended.) :P

I would LOVE to add some color to this game, maybe for a sequel/ spin-off! (I have an idea where you go through the game, unlocking new powers, which in turn unlocks certain colors for each power. To help it contrast from the black and white palette.)

And actually, Violette was originally intended to have purple/ pink hair, eyes, gloves and boots. Maybe I will revisit the design and make some changes! :3

Mistaking the eye monster power-up is something I will look into how I can fix/ better communicate to players it is a power-up.

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the game! :D

I love this... such an original idea for a game, very well executed, and the main thing, i think: absolutely relatable. Congratulations!

It's cool, a cool idea and i like the graphics style. music and audio could be better fitting. i suppose you used RPG maker's original database for that, right? This kind of stuff can really make a difference, especially when you're trying to set up a vibe. The inverted colors for the spirits are cool, but i still think the scary bits should be scarier (for example the darkness ending). Apart from that, i wish it would be longer and more challenging to get to the good ending. Maybe that would increase the sense of horror and suspense.
I hope this is constructive criticism. Keep it up! (cheers Br aliás huehe)

Simple but fun enough. Good pixel art. The cute graphics adds a lot. Music is simple but not bad. Unfortunately it's not thematic, so we kinda forget it's a halloween game. Scoreboard is a good addition.
First stage reminds me a lot of a Tiny Toons Wild Wacky Sports stage, from SNES. Was that an inspiration by any chance? haha
I think the current score is really underrating it, so i'm throwing in a five.
