[Captain Laser Rabbit Saves The Earth!]

things i liked:
-the design overall is nice and effective
-the soundtrack is really fun with the 90's synths and the change when there is a boss
-the arcade vibes from the voice are really fun too

things i think could improve:
-we should see more Captain Laser Rabbit. We even forget she is the one piloting when we are playing
-i think the background design should be more spacey (it's the only design thing i didn't like)
-but the main thing for me is: i played only once, in the normal difficulty. I didn't get a Game Over screen, so it means it was not challenging (even considering that i didn't know how to charge the laser). Unfortunately i wasn't very motivated to play again, even though everything was done so well. I think that, with the quality of the art and coding, this had potential for a game that would make me want to play a lot more. For example, if it had upgrades and we could fire more bullets per second, had more armor and all, and each time the enemies would get more difficult, i think it could last more and motivate me to play again eventually.

I'm really enjoying this! Makes me wanna get all achievements and get higher scores. The 1bit graphics get tedious quickly, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, i recognize the graphics are good. It's more about the choice of making them 1bit. I feel like if it had colors i would want to play it more. Also it makes it harder to distinguish the good things from the bad, or even the character. For example sometimes i mistake my helper monster with an actual monster, stuff like that.

The 1 bit graphics were because this was originally a game jam game I made for the "1 Bit Game Jam" (Theme: Light and Darkness). I kept the black and white aesthetic, just to keep in the spirit of the original game. (No pun intended.) :P

I would LOVE to add some color to this game, maybe for a sequel/ spin-off! (I have an idea where you go through the game, unlocking new powers, which in turn unlocks certain colors for each power. To help it contrast from the black and white palette.)

And actually, Violette was originally intended to have purple/ pink hair, eyes, gloves and boots. Maybe I will revisit the design and make some changes! :3

Mistaking the eye monster power-up is something I will look into how I can fix/ better communicate to players it is a power-up.
